Hi lovelies,
So this month I was determined to get this post up before late on the night of the 30th, but I guess that didn't happen... But.... Guess what? I actually did more this month than just listen to music! Unlike last month... Anyway, on to the actual post.
Miami Heat by Sinful Color
So, this polish. Logically, I shouldn't like this polish as much as I do. It's not a glitter, I didn't have to covert it from after until I could justify the high price/ridiculous shipping costs, it's not a purple or a pink and I didn't even have issues getting my hands on it. It's really actually just a plain blue creme. I picked it up on a whim with five other polishes I bought in a sale at Kmart this month. I really only bought it because I didn't have a darkish-blue creme. It wasn't until I got home and looked at my haul again that I fell in love with it. It's so shiny and pretty and really gorgeous and extremely wearable.
Also, I loved it so much that the first time I wore it I couldn't even bear to put nail art over the top of it - I just really wanted to show it all in it's full, if illogical, beauty. Check out my post about it and the tiny bit of nail art I did over it here.
My New Phone (Motorola Moto G)
At the beginning of this month, I bought myself a new phone and I'm still pretty excited about it. I lost my old phone on a bus about 2 months ago and I'd been using a very old phone we had lying around the house. I got sick of it pretty quickly and started looking for a new one and I ended up with the Moto G. It's my first smartphone (I know, I was very late joining the ranks) and to be honest, that's probably like 60% of why I'm still excited about it. All the new things I can do!! :)
So far, it's actually been a pretty great phone for me. It's easy to use, the screen is excellent, battery life is great, it's not too big or too small, it's pretty sturdy and it was really affordable. I got a 16gb unlocked one from ebay for $230. The only downside would probably be the camera. It's not the greatest and the front camera is super-weirdly desaturated. But oh well, we can't have everything.
My 'Inspired By: Cath Kidston' Nails
I was just really happy with them. :) I wore them for about a week actually, which is pretty crazy is itself as I never have nails on for more than about 2-3 days. They have also been one of my most popular designs to date as well, and I keep getting people that I haven't spoken to in ages messaging me with compliments on them. Which is really, really lovely. If you want to read more, check out my post about them.
My Red Wellington Boots
No matter what my mother says, I think these were a just, useful and very necessary purchase for the extremely wet and cold winter one experiences in Perth. :) All jokes aside, they are actually incredibly useful as I trek through the bush to work in the morning at 7:05. Now my feet stay lovely and dry all morning. :) And I can mark off one of my life goals - to own a pair of red wellington boots, just like Paddington Bear.
Instagram!
My new phone also allowed me to get an instagram account, which I had been unable to do previously because of a lack technology on my part (ie, I didn't have a smartphone and my Ipod touch is waaaaay to old to download anything anymore). I love it because sooo many pretty pictures and nailspiration and it fulfills my desire to poke around and look at other people's lives. :) If you're interested, my account is over here and I'd love it if you'd follow me. xx
Whose Line Is It Anyway
I've been watching all of Whose Line and I just really love it. Also, once I'd made it to the 5th season I realised that it should have taken that long to get through 5 seasons of TV, but oh well. I just find it incredibly clever and funny and the fact that they make everything up as they go just blows me away! Also, it wouldn't be a good monthly favourites if I didn't have at least one TV show in here. :)
And that's where I think I'll wrap up for this (belated) Monthly Favourites. If you want to check out the things I've rambled on about in previous months, head over to here.
