What I Liked About March

Monday, 31 March 2014

Hi lovelies,

So, this is the start of another new series on this blog (exciting right?! Two new series starting so soon after each other! :) So, at the end of each month, I will be doing a post about what I liked best about this month. It can be tangible or not - just things that I did like about each month. Hopefully, it will give me to look back on at the end of the year and I can see exactly what was good about each month. So, in no particular order, here are the things I liked about this month...

Teen Wolf
I recently got back into watching Teen Wolf, except that I hadn't seen it in so long I practically had to start from the very beginning and it was really annoying because there were bits that I remembered and I just wanted to skip past those bits but then other stuff happened and I was like, 'I don't remember this?? Who is that guy anyway?'. But aside from that, I am super enjoying it. Really enjoying it. All the enojoyment. Because I love supernatural stuff and I love TV shows that deal with that and I like that it has characters with depth in. I like that the characters also develop and that the show has some pretty badass female characters in it. Lydia is just everything I wish I was - super smart, loves learning, is self confident, has an acid wit, is loyal and also leads the entirety of Beacon Hills with her fashion chioces. Basically, I'm just really loving the show at the moment.

It also doesn't hurt that everyone on the show is stunningly attractive. :) Source here
Teen Wolf Fanfiction
This is something that I'm not even going to apologise for. I've been a fanfiction fan since I was 14ish and I don't regret anything. Okay, maybe I regret some school nights where I stayed up till 3ish in the morning reading fanfiction but that's over. I hadn't read any fanfiction for so long (actually it was probably pretty close to a year) but Teen Wolf has turned me around. I really love fanfiction. I think it allows you to explore so many sides of characters that you don't get to see in the actual shows/movies/books. It allows you to pick and choose what happens (sort of like a choose your own adventure story) and really learn about the characters you already love. Personally, in the Teen Wolf fandom, I haven't actually been able to get past Stiles and Derek as a pairing, I just think they work really well together. But again, that's me, and that's the beauty of fanfiction -you can make up your own mind.

Colette 'Summer Lovin' body lotion
This is a lotion I got for my birthday this year (in February) but I've really only started using the lotion this month. It has a very subtle smell, which is good, because I'm not really into a lot of scents (I'm mostly just a vanilla sort of girl - which is boring, but whatever). I'm also not even going to try to describe the smell, because a) I suck at describing smells and b) my nose is notorious for not smelling things accurately (I can't even smell off milk...). It's bad, I know.

Lush 'Vanillary' Perfume
This one, however, is one scent my poor nose can easily detect. This perfume is a beautifully intense vanilla scent that lasts for just hours and hours. I'm not even exaggerating. I can apply 3 squirts in the morning, go about my day to day activities and I'll still smell like vanilla by the time I get to my evening shower. It's lovely and about the only scent I wear.

It's really fun, I promise! Source here
Roller Coaster Tycoon
For those that don't know, which is probably most of you, Roller Coaster Tycoon is a computer game in which you have to create and manage a theme park, with the intention of reaching various objectives (x amount of guests, $0 loan, x number of roller coasters etc). It's pretty fun. Or, at least I think it's fun. I do have to admit that I can get a little caught up in it and the next thing I know, I've been playing the game for over 3 hours. :)

Face of Australia 'Carnivale' collection
Well actually, I'm really only excited about the textured polishes in this collection. I first heard about them through LabMuffin's post here and I'd been crawling through my local Big W since. I have since got my hands on Midnight Fireworks (gold), Between the Flags (blue) and Ferris Wheel (red) , but haven't been able to find Masquerade - which I really, really want! They are beautifully textured and are an excellent dupe for OPI's Liquid Sands polishes. I personally like them better than the OPI ones, because I find that they are a little more textured than Liquid Sand polishes and I think that if you're going to have textured polishes, then you may as well have as much texture as you can. :)

And that just about brings me to the end of my (very short) March roundup of the (surprisingly few) things that made March a good month, in my opinion. (And that has nothing to do with the fact that I spent a large majority of March reading Teen Wolf fanfiction. Nope. Nothing to do with that at all).

Until next time,
