Happy Australia Day

Saturday, 25 January 2014

Hello lovelies,

Here in the land of Oz it is Australia day, so I celebrated by going to the beach this morning and coming back for brunch - is that 'aussie' enough? I think so. Especially when combined with the Australian beach ball, inflatable ring, wind socks and umbrella hat my family and I own. (We didn't actually buy them because we are extremely patriotic, but rather because Opinionated had an Australian themed birthday party a couple of years back and we still have a lot of stuff left over). :)

I also got into the spirit of patriotism with some Aussie themed nail art...

I am really pleased with the final look! The union jacks where not as hard as I thought they were going to be and they also turned out looking fab - if I do say so myself. For those that are looking at the southern cross and thinking 'hmmm... something is not quite looking right', you would be right. The tiny star is actually on the wrong side... It's meant to be on the right, not the left. I'm not quite sure how I did that.... :)

For these, I used 'Blueberry' by Mode (blue), 'Snow Me White' by Sinful Colours (white) and 'Fire Fox' by Revlon (red).

Gosh, I love designs that use so few colours! :) Anyway, I hope all you other Aussies out there have a great day and for everybody else, I hope you have a lovely day as well, even if it's nothing special. :)
