Hi everyone,
We are now one month into 2015, and that means it's time for another Monthly Favourites!
Code Avengers
I know that I mentioned this as part of my New Years resolutions, but I think it's good enough that it warrants another mention. It's that useful. The lessons are so well set out, everything is explained in easy to understand language, it never moves at a too fast pace and I've been learning so much! And it's superhero themed....
Fashion that Changed the World
This book, by Jennifer Croll, is a delightful look at the 'social, economic and cultural factors that have pushed fashion...over the last hundred years' and looks at a variety of influences on fashion, like wars, sport, media and gender politics. While that sounds a lot like heavy reading, it's really not, and it's an excellent coffee time book. The lack of plot (as it is non-fiction) means it's very easy to pick up and put down as I need to.
My Wonder Woman Swimsuit
I am distinctly picking up a superhero theme is this month's favourites, but I guess I'm just going to roll with it. I got this from ebay and I love it. It was supremely cheap at AUD$9 including shipping and while it's no where near the excellent quality by bathers normally are (you can find out why they are always such high quality here) it is an amazing style and I love it to bits!
Rosehip Oil
After hearing rave reviews about this magic skincare product, I finally bit the bullet and got myself some. It's meant to improve complexion, reduce age spots and other pigmentation and be great full nourishment and moisturising, amongst other things. I mainly got it in the hopes that it would improve my complexion and give me some much needed moisture. I have skin that is about as full of moisture as the Sahara desert and because of that and the fact that I'm rather pale, my skin tends to look rather dull and lifeless. I've been using it once daily, after I cleanse in the evening and then apply my moisturiser over the top and I have to admit, I really am starting to feel the benefits. My skin is certainly more lifelike and I no longer feel like my skin is going to crack if I smile before I've moisturised in the morning. It's not particularly cheap, at about $20 for 20mL at Priceline, but considering I only use about 4-5 drops daily, it should last me a while.
Lime Shower Gel by Original Source
As I've mentioned when talking about Lush's Lemony Flutter, I'm not a big fan citrus-y scents, but this lime shower gel is the exception. I'm very picky about my scents, and generally don't stray far from soft vanillas, linen (that's a scent, I swear!) and coconut, but something about this sharp lime is rather delightful. It's about as lime as lime can get, with a fantastic green colour, great lathering and a bright, eye-catching and happy looking bottle. Even though I always shower at night, the bottle and the smell always invigorates me a bit
My New Blogging Calender
I decided to keep going strong with my Typo calenders (a stationary store) for my blogging work and sadly had to replace my beloved Peanuts one with a new one. However, my 2015 one is a DC comic one, so it makes me ridiculously excited to open up my calender and have comic book Wonder Woman staring back at me. Yes, I am a massive nerd...
So that brings me up to date for this month, I hope the beginning of 2015 was as good for you all as it was for me and I'll see you all next time!
